The uniqueness and size of these soaps can vary, greatly. All are made separately and in small batches producing 10-15 bars per batch. Once the soap is poured into the mold, the mold is wrapped in towels to keep it warm for two days before they are cut into bars. The bars are then laid out for a minimum of two weeks, but as long as four to five weeks, depending on their size. The longer a bar of soap stays out to dry, the harder it will become; thus, not melting so fast when using it. It helps to keep the soap on a dish that can aerate.
All these soaps include Sodium Hydroxide (lye) and distilled water. The most common oils used are coconut, olive, palm but there may also be canola, safflower, castor, or tamanu. Tamanu is from a nut tree, so if you have a nut allergy, this one may cause an allergic reaction. It is a popular idea to buy a sampler box to try out several bars. These bars range from approximately 2.5-3.4 ounces.
As the size of my soaps are so different, they are weighed before packaging, in ounces. The cost per bar depends on the weight, unpackaged. Cost is $1.40 per oz., tax and USPS postage rates.
